Application:
Sensitive electrical and electronic components and equipment (ESD-sensitive components) can be damaged or even destroyed by electrostatic discharge in their vicinity (electrostatic discharge = ESD).
An electrostatic discharge can be caused by people or by handling ESD-sensitive components (e.g. during manufacturing, assembly, transport, storage, etc.).
To avoid electrostatic discharge, the use of electrically dissipative products in the electronic environment is required, which comply with DIN EN 61340-5-1.
