Indexing plungers are used when it is necessary to prevent a change in the locking position due to lateral forces. It is only possible to move to another locking position after the pin has been disengaged manually.
If the disengagement is carried out over a longer period of time and the guided locking pin must not return, form C or form D should be used.

Indexing plungers with standard metric thread and unpolished, unhardened locking guide pins are an economical alternative to the existing indexing plungers. However, this accuracy is sufficient for many applications. The lower manufacturing tolerances also make the products less sensitive to misalignment, which can occur when aligning the indexing plungers with the hole in the counterpart.
